Claudemir is passionate about Psychotherapy because
in his opinion it is the only profession in the world that
can take him to the "real" soul of a human being.
What a privilege to listen to clients' untold stories and
"travel" with them on their search for a better place,
a place of happiness, peace and hope. What a privilege
to be part of their lives, and see them find their own
strengths and grow. What a privilege to know more
about people than their own friends, relatives and even
immediate family members.
Claudemir is honored and very proud to be in this field.
He graduated from Setson University (Master of
Science) in Individual, Couple, Marriage and Family
Therapy, and is pursuing his PhD in the same field at
Barry University. Claudemir is a registered Marriage &
Family Therapist Intern (license no. IMT 893) with the
State of Florida Department of Health Division of
Medical Quality Assurance. He has primary
certification in REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior
Therapy), by Albert Ellis Institute, New York, (2004).
Additionally, he obtained certification in Play Therapy
by University of Central Florida (2001-2003), and he is
pursuing certification in sex therapy by Valencia
Community College. He is an active member of the
American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy
(AAMFT), American Psychological Association (APA),
and International Positive Psychology Association.
Claudemir has lifetime membership with Harvard
Medical School Postgraduate Association, where he
has been taking some courses on Psychology.
(www.cme.med.harvard.edu/postgrad/). At the moment,
Claudemir works at Kratochvil Health Kare
(www.faithfilledliving.com/1330644.html), and at The
Wellness Institute of Orlando. He has published articles
in Portuguese, Spanish and English, including
publication in COUNSELING TODAY, the prestigious
journal of the American Counseling Association.
Claudemir presented at the most prestigious conference
on psychology in the world (APA), namely, American
Psychological Association, in San Francisco (August
18th, 2007). His theme was: "Corporations Need
Psychotherapy".
On the left side, you will see some of
the approaches he enjoys working with. He integrates
a variety of therapeutic models depending on the
situation of his clients. From a post-modernist
perspective, Claudemir recognizes the value of
collaboration between psychotherapist and client,
and the idea that clients are the "experts" of their lives.
